Thanks everyone, for your feedback! Phyllis, we *almost* ordered the cricket bread, and went for the jackfruit at the last minute, which was delish. Next time, it's insects for sure! (I'm going to Colombia next month, where fried ants are a specialty, so maybe I'll make up for it there...)

I'm thrilled you got to try many of the places we talked about. We were so excited to share our faves with you when we met you at Jade Dynasty. It was sort of weird that we didn't start talking earlier - I mean, we kept looking over at each others' tables checking out what the other had ordered!

Glad you had a gastronomically great time in our city. Next time you are here, take us with you on your food adventures!

...I can't believe you walked Hastings to Chinatown on your first day here. Brave New Yorkers!

As a Vancouverite currently living in New Jersey, it's always nice to see someone enjoy themself in my hometown! You've hit several of my favorite places and your photos are making me homesick. I'm so thrilled you got to try poutine and a Japadog terimayo (YUM). And the butter beef at Phnom Penh, lamb popsicles at Vij's (what? no cricket bread?!), and the golden roll from Tojo's are all to die for :)

As a food-obsessed NY-er who loves snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb, I will now make it a priority to stay a few days in Vancouver JUST to follow your food guide (and the additional local's comments). Thanks for the great pics and the delicious food pilgrimage!

Great article and pretty much reads as the 'Best Of' for Vancouver restaurants. Sure there are other great places to eat, but these places sum up Vancouver dining for me. Even though I've never been to Tojos. Perhaps this is an excuse...

Thinking if there are any ones I'd recommend that are left off the list. Places like Bluewater Cafe and West are great, but pretty swank and impossible to compare with places like Decons corner and Japa dog. None jump to mind but now you've got me thinking!

I have yet to try the famous Japa Dog and this article has got me craving the dog again - among other things...
