Perfect Little Summer Cocktail
Posted by Bryn Mooth on Friday, July 8th, 2011I grossly overshot when I purchased the fruit to make homemade blueberry jam last weekend. Pauvre moi. So I asked Rob to come up with a blueberry-infused summer cocktail suitable for the oh-so-typical, hot-and-muggy, July-in-the-Midwest weather we’re having.
This blueberry cocktail recipe was prompted in part by this strawberry/Prosecco cocktail we made when strawberries were in season several weeks ago, though the muddled fruit is the only thing they have in common. St. Germain—have you tried it?—is a wonderfully floral liqueur that makes its way into many of Rob’s cocktail recipes. And the club soda topper gives just the right amount of refreshing effervescence.
blueberry muddle cocktail
2 oz. vodka
juice of half a lemon
1/2 oz. agave nectar or simple syrup
1 oz. St. Germain
12 blueberries
club soda
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blueberries. Add other ingredients and shake well. Strain into two ice-filled cocktail glasses (we love 400ml Kimax beakers as barware; a highball would also work). Top with club soda and garnish each glass with 2 or 3 whole blueberries.

Hi Bryn –
Mmm. Looks good! This cocktail caught my eye not only for its refreshing beauty but for its classy use of blueberries! I do PR for the BC Blueberry Council. We have loads of blueberry information and recipes that can inspire! Just ask!
Best –
