Last year, local chef celebre Rob Feenie literally made front page headlines when he won in Kitchen Stadium against Iron Chef Morimoto. Tonight, Canada is once again well represented with Toronto’s Susur Lee stepping up to the task against Iron Chef Bobby Flay. (Food Network, 9pm)
From what I’ve heard, dining at Susur’s is a truly phenomenal experience. The menu is generally created from whatever inspires Susur at the market that day, with the main course served early in the proceedings and then tapering off into smaller, more delicate dishes as the meal progresses. Susur’s taste combinations and presentations are as complex as they are surreal. Check out the gallery section of his site to see what I mean. And prepare for a serious battle this evening.
