Happy Mardi Gras!

Today is Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday also known as Pancake Tuesday and Paczki Day.
It is the day that in many Christian calendars households need to get rid of all the fat, flour, sugar and fruit from their kitchen in preparation for Lent. Traditionally this is done by making pancakes or the lovely little doughnuts I talked about last year called Paczki.
So what are you eating for Fat Tuesday? Pancakes or Paczki?

We just had ground beef pancakes. I believe they are called hamburgers in my part of the world.

Nancy, great job in keeping the tradition alive! I just gave “official” permission for someone to eat paratha as a pancake substitute for dinner tonight.
