For some people, the oven can appear to be an intimidating beast. Often, it’s easier to remain an armchair cook, salivating over recipes that may never see the light of day in your kitchen. But if making goof ups is your concern, don’t worry about it. Just go in there and get dirty.
Let me give you an example of how there’s always hope even in the most discouraging situations.
One day, I had decided to bake a Chocolate Amaretto Bundt Cake from “The Magnolia Bakery Cookbook“. First off, I was missing two things: amaretto-flavoured liqueur and a bundt pan. Kinda important. So I decided to tweak the recipe a bit. (Wouldn’t recommend fiddling with baking recipes, but whatever).
After labouring for over an hour, I ended up with an unpretty cake. Poor thing. However, I tapped into my creative genius and came up with the brilliant idea of transforming it into a trifle.
From wallflower to gorgeous head-turner, this cake made the transition wonderfully. Frosting and lighting does wonders.
