An “Offal” Dinner!


sweetbreadsHello Foodists and fans of rare and unusual treats for the table (at least here in Vancouver!). I am hosting a very limited seating tomorrow, July 7th for “An Offal Dinner” at Pied A Terre.

Seven courses, at 7 PM on July 7th at Pied A Terre on Cambie Street in Vancouver. I have been working with Chef Ryan Mielty on the menu and it looks tasty!

The Menu:

Roast Bone marrow, parsley salad

Jerusalem artichoke soup, crispy pigs ears

Deep fried calves brains, anchovy, caper & preserved lemon
________________________________

Stuffed ox heart, Horseradish & celeriac remoulade
________________________________

Lambs tongues, papperadelle, peas, mint & ricotta
________________________________

Black pudding, watercress, pommes paille, mustard sauce

________________________________

Dry aged steak, Grilled Kidney, Sweetbread pithivier, madeira and spinach
________________________________

Local raspberry summer pudding or Rhubarb pie (TBD)

Price per person will be $110 (not including beverages)

    Dang it! That’s right up my alley, right in my neighbourhood, but I’ll be just back from NYC with a huge credit card bill and jet lag. I’m gonna have to pass, unfortunately!

    Simply put, this meal is one I’ll never forget. I hope Johnathon posts some photos and a review soon.
